Our class time is almost totally adult-directed.  Our teachers actually TEACH nearly 100% of the time, except for recess.  We realize that the kids are young, and that a school-like atmosphere is inappropriate if that means completing lots of worksheets.  That's why we think of it more as "play with a purpose", utilizing lots of songs and games.  But we passionately believe that significant LEARNING OCCURS WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF RELATIONSHIP.  The teacher plays a major role in the experience of the child.   If you are seeking a more self-directed learning environment, then we probably aren't a good fit for your needs.  That's ok.  No one style is right or wrong...what matters is what is the best fit for your child.

We also believe that PASSION FOR LEARNING IS CAUGHT, NOT TAUGHT.    Kids think things are cool and exciting if the adults around them think stuff is cool and exciting.  We want their first experience with "school" to be filled with wonder and excitement.  The world is an amazing place, and learning about it should be an adventure!
